Stewardship Witness Talk by Debbie Legere, Nov 12th, 2017

What St. Margaret’s and Christian Generosity Means to Me

I became a part of St. Margaret’s a little over 3 years ago.  I have surprised myself at how I have grown while finding more meaning in Christ and the true meaning of being a Christian.

There are so many things to love about St. Margaret’s and all of these have brought me to where I am now.  What I have thoroughly enjoyed was following 2 Pilgrim studies, One about Prayer with Bill Hybels book Too Busy Not To Pray and The Commandments, a book study called Surprise the World and being a part of Richard King’s talks about how we can be more Christian like vs Evangelistic.

From these study groups, I found that praying can be exciting and comforting.  Having a better understanding of the Bible and following 10 important “rules” has helped me to become more aware of what the Lord wants me to do.  By being more grateful and appreciative to everyone and everything around me, this has helped me to pass this beauty forward with a very warm heart!

What Christian generosity means to me comprises of 2 things-it is an act of kindness being passed forward that can lift your spirits to the stars and back!

It is also knowing that God’s work is coming from the inside out and helping me to become a better version of myself.  I may not always be a GOOD Christian or read the bible to a “T” but all I ask is to please be patient with me, God isn’t finished with me yet!

Thank you

Debbie Legere
