Upcoming events Oct 30th to Nov 5th, 2017

Just a reminder that our 10:30am service this Sunday, Oct 29th will be our youth participation service. We are also having Trunk or Treat following this service, so please bring your children’s costumes for them to put on AFTER the service, and if you would like to hand out treats for the children, please bring those as well.

We will also be learning a new song this Sunday, which is a bit tricky. If you would like to listen to it before Sunday, please visit this link www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUdeVf0AOJk

Small Groups at St. Margaret's
Please remember to complete and return your Small Groups Questionnaire by Tuesday October 31st, either by email to stmrector@gmail.com, or in person to any member of the Small Groups Committee (Doug Sanderson, Debbie Legere, Esther Stocker, Norma Gutteridge, Tim & Marci Chesterton). There is also a box on the table in Melanie’s office if you’d like to place them there.

Tim is interested in starting up a Wednesday afternoon Bible Study group which would look at one of the scripture passages for the following Sunday. It would run from 2pm to 3:30pm and start up in the new year (or sooner if there is interest). If you are interested in attending, please add your name to the sheet on the table in the foyer.

Winnifred Stewart: Empties to Winn Project
Please feel free to bring some or all of your empty bottles (juice, milk, cans, and other beverage containers) and drop them in our bags. Please support Winnifred Stewart by making provision for this project! Next pick up should be November 23rd, 2017.  Thank you!

Annual Christmas Variety Concert and Pageant: Sunday December 3rd at 7.00 p.m. As usual, this concert will be a fundraiser for the World Vision Raw Hope project. Tickets will be on sale starting next Sunday Nov 5th and will be $10 each to a maximum of $30 per family.

Handel’s ‘Messiah’ will be presented by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra on Friday December 15th under the direction of their new principal conductor, Alexander Prior; the singers will be the Kokopelli and Òran choirs. We are going to try to encourage people to buy tickets and attend this event. If enough parishioners go we will try to have a ‘meet up’ downtown for a light supper before the concert, and we might arrange a preparation event to give people some ideas about what to look for in the music. Tickets are available from the Winspear Centre box office or at www.winspearcentre.com.

Break Forth One exists to unify, serve, equip, and empower the church in Canada to live out the mission of Jesus.  We’re inviting people of all generations and denominations to join us for one weekend January 26-28, 2018 to study and learn together as one united body of Christ.  Some speakers include Levi Lusko, Albert Tate, Margaret Feinberg, and Mark Clark.  Hillsong Worship will be leading us in worship music and Family Force 5 and Israel Houghton & New Breed will be doing concerts over the weekend. Early bird registration ends November 30, so you can register before then to take advantage of a lower rate. Please visit breakforthcanada.com for tickets and information. There are also a few brochures on the shelf at the bottom of the stairs.
