EASTER OFFERINGS: Easter Special Offerings will be going directly to our World Vision RAW Hope fund.
‘Raw Hope works in unstable countries whose governments cannot or will not act to protect the rights of its people. These are characterized by armed conflict, frequent and massive population movements. For children and families living in countries with these disturbing conditions, it is a daily experience to face these threats of abuse and exploitation as well as suffering from hunger and a lack of medical assistance’. Our support of the Raw Hope project brings help to these people who need it most. Our donations go towards providing clean water and nutritious food, sanitation and shelter, safe places for children to play and learn, medicine and healthcare, instruction for women and girls to help prevent abuse and rape, and assist World Vision in implementing long-term solutions to make these regions more secure and resilient. For more information, please visit the World Vision Raw Hope website at

Thank you to Elsie, Terry and her husband Ron for cleaning the church windows this past week!

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us on Saturday April 29th from 10am to 3pm for a Ministry Planning Day. A Ministry plan is simply a tool to help us focus on the essential things we believe God is calling us to do. There are many good things we could do: Ministry planning helps us choose the right things, and choose to stop doing things that are no longer so important. Archdeacon Richard King will be facilitating our day (which will probably run for about four hours before and after lunch on Saturday April 29th). We would like to get as many people as possible to join in the day, so that we can hear from many different voices, all of us trying to be attentive to God's guidance together.
Richard will be using four 'categories' to think about the things we do as a church: Worship, Discipleship, Community, and Mission. Please think prayerfully about these questions:
·      What is God calling us to pray for?
·      What is God calling us to become?
·      What is God calling us to do?
Please use this prayer daily as we get ready for our workshop on April 29th:
Gracious Lord, we ask that you look with favour upon the people of St. Margaret's as we prepare for our Ministry Planning workshop. Fill our hearts with joy that we may participate enthusiastically. Fill our minds with wise thoughts that we may make decisions that further your kingdom here on earth. Guide us as we consider our contributions in worship, community building, discipleship and mission. We ask that the Holy Spirit inspire our time together as we seek to serve you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The U of A Educational Chaplaincy Dinner 2017 is coming up on Wed. May 3rd at 5:30 at the U of A Faculty Club. This years keynote speaker will be Dr. Chris Herd, U of A Professor of Planetary Geology and Advisor on the 2020 NASA Mars Rover mission. To purchase tickets, please go to

St. Margaret’s is always looking for volunteers! At this time, we are especially looking for individuals to form part of a “Building and Maintenance” committee. This would involve helping out with small jobs around the church as well as helping with outdoor yard and lawn maintenance this spring and summer. If you are interested in helping in any way, or would like further information, please talk to Elsie McFall or Debbie Legere, or email Melanie @
