The Edmonton Emergency Relief Services folks are putting out an URGENT request for new pillows, new blankets, and new underwear, in all sizes. They are completely out of those supplies. You can take things to the downtown location at 10255-104 Street, downtown, or to the southside location, at 6968-76 Ave.
Also, many evacuees are coming into the city this morning and will need accommodation.
If you have space available and are willing, please contact Shelly King at the Diocese of Edmonton Synod Office at reception@edmonton.anglican.ca, or call 780-439-7344 and ask to speak to Shelly King.
If you are unable to drop off new items to either of these drop off locations there will be a box in the foyer for donations. It is preferred that items be dropped off directly at either location to ensure timely distribution.

Sunday May 15th 7.30 p.m.: Rob Heath and Tim Chesterton in Concert for World Vision.
We’re delighted to announce that our friend Rob Heath will be returning to St. Margaret’s to join Tim for a benefit concert for our World Vision ‘Raw Hope’ appeal. Rob has just released his sixth album, ‘The Key’ and you can listen to the songs on it, along with Rob’s earlier material, at his website (http://robheath.com). Tickets for this event will be $20 at the door and are also available in advance at Eventbrite: (https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/rob-heath-and-tim-chesterton-in-concert-for-world-visions-raw-hope-initiative-tickets-23567017584).

MARK YOUR CALENDERS
Sunday June 5th 12 noon: Spring Congregational Meeting
Saturday June 18th 3.00 p.m. Annual Parish BBQ
We will be holding our customary spring BBQ at the home of Lorne and Beryl Rice (near Nisku) on Saturday 18th starting mid-afternoon and running into the evening. Food, games, fun and fellowship. Please bring a salad/side dish for sharing and meat and something to drink for yourself. Directions and maps will be forthcoming closer to the event.

We're delighted to announce that Reed and Linda Fleming from Street Hope Saint John will be visiting Edmonton from June 15th to 27th. This trip is partly a holiday for them and partly an opportunity for them to connect with the St. Margaret's family as our parish is a big supporter of the work of Street Hope. Reed will be preaching on Sunday June 26th and we will also be arranging some coffee and fellowship events while they are with us.
Reed and Linda's air fares to come to Edmonton total around $1400. Threshold Ministries staff are not exactly paid luxurious salaries, and Reed is responsible for raising most of his own salary through his own fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation toward Reed and Linda's air fares, please pass it on to Tim. Cheques should be made out to Threshold Ministries and clearly marked for Reed Fleming/Street Hope Saint John. Tax receipts will be through Threshold.

The next Lunch Bunch will be Thursday, May 19th at St. Margaret's Church starting at 11:30 a.m.
Everyone is welcome. Please come and join us for a time of fellowship. Stan Gerber will be doing a Photo Show entitled "Welcome to Spring".
If you would like to attend there is a sign up sheet in the front foyer or contact the church office at (780) 437-7231

Fort McMurray Emergency Relief

Accommodations
The Synod Office is now coordinating the accommodations and Bishop Jane is asking people who want to make this offer to contact Shelly King at reception@edmonton.anglican.ca

Donations
The government, Northlands and everyone else involved in disaster relief has been saying consistently that the preferred centre for donations is the Red Cross. Their website for Fort McMurray disaster relief is
The Alberta government and the Federal government are both matching donations made by Canadians, so this is a very effective way to give.

Disaster Relief
For those who want to give material aid, Edmonton Emergency Relief Services is collecting donations and is in need of volunteers. Specifically, they are collecting diapers, baby wipes, NEW toiletries (such as soap, shampoo, tampons, toothpaste etc.) and NEW socks and underwear. Please do not bring random old stuff! Take your donations, NOT to the Expo Centre, but to the ERS offices, downtown at 10255-104 Street. They will distribute the items where they are needed most. If you would like to volunteer, please call 780-428-4422. Leave a message and someone will respond to your call.

Prayer
Let’s keep praying for everyone involved, and especially that the Lord would send us a good rain. Let's also pray for our fellow Anglican Christians in Fort McMurray. There are two Anglican churches there, All Saints' and St. Thomas'; At time of writing we  have no information as to the state of those buildings, but for sure many of their members will be amongst the evacuees.
