The regular stuffBorn in St. John's, NL March 3, 1944. Survived by those in Winnipeg: Dad's best friend & wife of 42 years, Janet (Stratton) & daughter Krista (Marc Tellier). In Newmarket, ON: Daughter Sherri and beloved grandchildren Brandon, Jade, Jonathan, & Malachi. In NL: Sister Dianne (Bill Boyd), brother Wayne (Lauralei Greenland), brother-in-law Ed Stratton (Judy Driscoll). Also with fond & loving memories 7 nephews & 1 niece.

The cool stuff: In NL Dad was involved in church outreach & youth ministries and started the Paint Shop Franchise. Dad & Mom moved to Alberta in 2004 where he was an advocate for those with the disease & then to Winnipeg in 2012.

The important stuff: Dad picked the best wife and mother, and gave us a Christ-centered home where he abundantly gifted us with his  time, humour, and unconditional love. Thank-you Dad for sharing so much of yourself with us, and with others. Your legacy will live on in everyone you have touched.

In lieu of flowers please make a "Dave Fost Memorial" donation to Deer Lodge Center. A mural with family input will be created & dedicated in Dad's name. The mural will help calm residents of a locked dementia unit by disguising the doorways by creating a beautiful environment. This is also a  small way to thank the extraordinary staff who cared for Dad in the last 9 months as if he was family. Please be sure to put "Dave Fost Memorial" in the specific request section to make sure the money is appropriately assigned. Tax receipts will be issued:

Memorial service will be held at Keswick Presbyterian Church, Ontario on December 10 at 2:00 PM

To end this post I will close with one of Dad's quotes followed by one of my own comments:

COMMUNICATION: “Communication is equal to content, and vice versa. One might have content in a presentation, but it is almost useless, if it cannot be communicated. One might be an excellent communicator, but it is almost useless, if the presentation is void of content, hence, COMMUNICATION = CONTENT and COMMUNICATION + CONTENT = IMPACT” - Dave Fost, 2000
From the deepest part of my heart I sincerely thank-you, Dad, for having such a positive IMPACT on so many lives. Mine included. You abundantly shared with me your most valuable gifts: your time, wisdom, and love. I may question lots in life, but being deeply loved, appreciated, and respected by you has never been a doubt. I am me, because you took the time to invest in me. - Love, Krista.

I think all of us who knew him will agree that Dave was one of the most remarkable human beings we ever had the privilege of knowing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet and the family.
