St. Margaret’s Anglican Church Fall Congregational Meeting
NOTICE is hereby given that the Fall meeting of Parishioners will be held on the 18th day of October A.D. 2015 at 12 o'clock pm, at St. Margaret's at which time all baptized persons regularly attending Services of worship in this Parish or otherwise regularly receiving the administrations of the clergy of this Parish are entitled to attend. Dated this 30th day of September, A.D. 2015

The next Lunch Bunch will be October 22nd, 11:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church.  Stan Gerber will be sharing pictures of their cruise to Alaska so please come and join us for this incredible journey.  Everyone is welcome.  If you would like to attend there is a sign up sheet in the front foyer or please contact Julie Holmes at 780-435-4208 or Lesley Schindel at 780-989-3833.

Reach Campaign proceeds update:  St Margaret’s has received from the diocese an initial cheque of our portion of the Reach Campaign proceeds in the amount of $5,846.50. Our total portion of the proceeds over 5 years amounts to $48,866.50. The diocese understands that, due to financial circumstances, the total monies pledged over the 5 years may not all be forthcoming and so parishes have been advised when budgeting to assume an income of 85% of the total due them; in our case this would be $41,553.53, or $8,310.71 per year for the next 5 years. When St. Margaret’s case statement to the diocese for the use of these funds was made, it was decided that 40% of our proceeds would go to the future building fund and 60% towards child and youth ministry. Beginning in 2016 this projected annual income from the campaign will be designated as follows:
Future building fund:         $3,324.28         Child and youth ministry:         $4,986.43
Because the ministry needs of school aged children and youth are quite different, vestry has decided that this portion will be shared equally between the two groups (approximately $2,493.22 for each group per year). This money will mainly be used for extra-curricular educational events to help our young people grow as engaged disciples of Jesus.
Thanksgiving Sunday: October 11th. On this day, as is our custom, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Edmonton Food Bank. Also, if you use Church offering envelopes, the extra ‘special offering’ envelopes for Thanksgiving will be going to our special appeal this year for World Vision’s ‘Raw Hope’ project.
Fall Congregational Meeting: Sunday October 18th after the 10.30 service. Updates on finances and the building extension project and other items that may need attention. Please mark your calendars. A light lunch will be provided by the Hospitality Committee.
Good Works Fair: Sunday October 25th. As is our custom we will have representatives from two or three mission and outreach agencies coming to share with us about the work their organizations do.
