Our diocese has been challenged to roll up our sleeves and donate 100 units of blood by the end of 2015. Every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. Did you know it can take 5 units of blood to help someone in cancer treatment and up to 50 units to help someone in a car accident?

To find out if you are eligible to give blood, visit or call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283). If you are unable to give directly, why not become an advocate and encourage others to donate for you? There are also opportunities to volunteer with Canadian Blood Services.

We can give and encourage others to give by registering as a member of the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton team: ANGL696986 at Once you have registered every donation you make will be automatically attributed to our Partners for Life team.

Individuals can give blood approximately every two months (56 days). To donate, please call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283). You can view the schedule for the donor clinic nearest by using the “Find a Clinic” search bar at

You can read how people’s lives have been impacted at, and view testimonials at

Thank you for helping us support this life-giving initiative. Together, with prayer and participation, we can help ensure there is blood available when someone needs it.

We will be inviting parishes to take part in a diocesan blood donation day at a central Edmonton location and simultaneously in surrounding communities.
