BEYOND OUR PARISH
Sunday June 8th: Ordination Service at All Saints’ Cathedral, 3.00 p.m.
It is our pleasure to announce that Bishop Jane Alexander intends, God willing, to ordain the Rev. Armand Mercier to the priesthood; Arthur Dyck, Aaron Parsall-Myler and Adenike Yesufu to the diaconate; and to receive the Rev. John Mac Ayuen as a Priest. All Saints’ Cathedral is at 10035–103rd Street, Edmonton

Induction of Susan Ormsbee as Rector of St. Paul’s, Leduc
The Rev. Susan Ormsbee will be inducted as Rector of St. Paul’s, Leduc on Friday June 20th at 7.00 p.m. Friends from St. Margaret’s are welcome to attend.

Diocesan Fundraising Campaign. The Diocese of Edmonton is in the early stages of its REACH campaign to raise $5 million to fund mission and ministry across the diocese over the next few years. Here is what we know:
·      The total will be split, with 50% going to the parishes, 40% to the diocese, and 10% to the national Anglican church.
·      Parishioners will be invited to make pledges over a five-year period.
·      Parishes will be asked to consider a target of 115% of their 2013 envelope income. For St. Margaret’s this would be approximately $160,000 to be raised over five years.
·      Parishes will be asked to identify mission and ministry plans that could be funded by their share of the money raised. These mission and ministry plans should be related to the parish’s Mission Action Plan.
·      We have been reassigned to the Bloc 2 group of parishes, which means we will be running our campaign September – December. However, it will mean we will need to be recruiting volunteers to help over the summer months, so don’t be surprised if you are contacted about this! Volunteers will be asked to go out and visit parishioners, explain the Diocesan ‘Case’ and the Parish ‘Case’, and ask for pledges toward the campaign.
·      The Rector is required to undertake early visits to potential leadership givers to give the campaign a kick start.
Your wardens and vestry are trying to keep you informed and pass on to you all that we know about this campaign. When we know more, we will let you know.

A Final Note from Tim
Like many other people, I look forward to some holiday time in the summer. I really appreciate the ministry of those who make this possible for me, especially visiting clergy and lay readers who lead services in my absence. They put a lot of time into their preparation work and I hope you will support their ministry by coming to worship while they are leading services. After all, we don’t come to church to worship the Rector, but to worship God and celebrate the Risen Jesus!

That’s it for us this month. May God bless us and fill us with joy, and help us to celebrate the Good News of Jesus and share it with others.
